If you know of any families that are on other Christian curriculums please can you forward this information to them - we would love to have them join us.
The Team at the All Africa Student Convention have also opened their doors to any student on a Christian Curriculum, so if students on other curriculums (eg Alpha Omega) were to win a nomination they would be able to enter the AASC as well. Unfortunately only students that are on ACE can receive nominations to attend the International Student Convention, USA.
We would like to hand out required documentation by Wednesday 14th so please make sure you confirm your child’s entries with us before then.
If you are able to help with the catering this year, please let us know in writing before Wednesday 14th. Proceeds will go towards PACE books for students and to “Shalom” – an orphanage which we are helping to set up in Marlborough.
If you need any help or further information please contact us.
ART
Ronel Rivers will be taking the art sessions this term - every Monday after break. She will be covering the A.C.E and the “O level” Art curriculum, so students will be able obtain a General Level Credit if they complete the course. The school will be covering the cost of tuition but all students are required to bring their own art supplies. Please make sure you purchase the following if you wish your child to have lessons.
A3 sketch Pad
Pencils – HB,B,2B and 4B
Primary color poster paints
A porcelain tile to mix paints on
A variety of paint brushes – small to large
Thick card that can be primed for painting – A3 size or larger.
An old t-shirt to wear over the school uniform.
SATS
Any students in their year of graduation will have to write the SAT test in October. Please encourage your child to begin revision NOW .. and help them in whatever way you can! We have supplied a booklet of common SAT words and their roots to graduating students and we will continue with math formula drills and SAT essays. It is up to the student, however, to apply themselves diligently if they wish to get good college entrance scores.
USA CONVENTION
Mrs Padmore will be going to the USA convention with Duncan on 17th May and returning on 22nd June. Mrs Conlon will be running the school over that period and Layla Padmore will be assisting her. If you have anything you wish to discuss with Mrs Padmore before she leaves, please feel free to book an appointment.
God Bless,
Coralie and Lynette.
